OBJECT MEMORY

Opening Reception: Sunday, March 24, 12 to 4 PM

Please join us for an art reception to open a new exhibit, Object Memory, featuring the work of Susan Tabachnick, Kraig Binkowski, and Susan McCaslin. The theme explores the interplay between human experiences, the environments we inhabit, the objects we use and and surround ourselves with, and the memories that are created and associated with those environments and objects.

Objects have an uncanny ability to evoke memories, serving as tangible vessels of our personal and collective experiences. They carry within them the weight of history, narratives, and emotions.

The exhibit runs from March 24 to May 11, 2024. Gallery hours: Thursday through Saturday, 12 to 4 PM and by appointment.

FEATURED ARTIST: AISHA NAILAH

Opening Reception: Sunday, March 24, 12 to 4 PM

Aisha Nailah, a multidisciplinary teaching artist, is the Metro Art Studios Featured Artist from March 24 through May 11, 2024. Her exhibit, S.T.I.L.Life (shit that I like in life), combines a love of color and texture, often working fabrics and paper into her pieces as well as using paint and ink. Her work concerns itself mainly with the feeling, color, and spiritual vibrancy of the composition. Aisha is very inspired culturally being an African Diasporan woman of Costa Rican descent and by street art.

The exhibit runs from March 24 to May 11, 2024.
